When do you bring a Hostess Gift?
A Hostess Gift is a gesture of appreciation given to your host and hostess to thank them for their generous hospitality. Hostess gifts are appropriate to bring or send as a thank you whenever you have been invited to someone's home for any kind of social gathering ~ Cocktail or Dinner Parties, Brunches, Wedding/Baby Showers or any kind of Family or Holiday Gathering. It is also appropriate (and just plain good manners) to send a Hostess Gift after you have been a guest in someone's home for an extended period of time. Try and match your gift to the occasion. For instance, anything "beachy" would work well as a thank you after spending a week at a friend's vacation home at the coast. A Hostess Gift can be food, wine, flowers or anything that can be used for entertaining.
A Hostess gift could also be something that reflects your host's personality or compliments their particular home decor style.
